The Mission of the Town of Otterbein's Emergency Management Program is to reduce loss of life and property damage while protecting our town's critical infrastructure from all types of hazards through a comprehensive, risk-based, emergency management program of mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery in conjunction with the Benton and Tippecanoe Counties Emergency Management Programs.

The Town of Otterbein's goal is to help our citizens prepare for and cope with any type of emergency through education of the Benton and Tippecanoe Counties Emergency Operations Plan. This document coordinates all fire, law enforcement, medical, and other allied disaster agencies. The town's responsibility is to educate the public and businesses on disaster preparedness and response. The Town's Administrative offices are also responsible for emergency communications for the community in the event of a large-scale disaster or failure
